Trailering The Peanuts Movie from Blue Sky

Watch the first full-trailer for The Peanuts Movie (Nov. 6) and find out how Charlie Brown tries to reinvent himself to attract the Little Red-Haired Girl.

Reinvention is key to the aesthetics of The Peanuts Movie, as Blue Sky successfully adopts the graphic design of Charles Schulz’s iconic characters (while also leveraging the hand-drawn look of the beloved TV series). Schulz’s deadpan humor is also well served, from the use of drawings as commentary to the inclusion of The Who’s “Baba O’Riley” in the trailer.

Written by Cornelius Uliano with Schulz’s sons Craig and Bryan, The Peanuts Movie is directed by Steve Martino (Ice Age: Continental Drift) and produced by Paul Feig, and features the voices of Noah Schnapp, Hadley Belle Miller, AJ Tecce, Noah Johnston, Venus Schultheis, Alexander Garfin, Francesca Capaldi, Mar Mar, Mariel Sheets, Rebecca Bloom, William Alexander Wunsch, Anastasia Bredikhina, and Madisyn Shipman.

It is interesting that they’re trying something new with the Peanuts franchise. How successful those changes actually are is a different story. But from this trailer I do think I’ll give the movie a shot!
