World Animation & VFX Summit to Honor Roman and Arnold

Animation Magazine’s World Animation & VFX Summit (Nov. 2)  will honor Film Roman founder Phil Roman, and How to Train Your Dragon 2 producer Bonnie Arnold at its opening-night gala Nov. 2 at the California Yacht Club in Marina del Rey.

The other honorees will be The Simpson’s director David Silverman, veteran voice actor Jim Cummings (Winnie the Pooh), Gotham Group founder Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, and RGH (Rubicon Group Holding) Studio.

Keynote speakers include producer/director Rob Minkoff (The Lion King, Stuart Little, Mr. Peabody andSherman), David Steinberg, SVP of production at Nickelodeon, and Paul Babb, CEO of Maxon.

Feature Film Case Studies panels include presentations by members of Disney’s Big Hero 6 animation and VFX team. The Summit will welcome award-winning director Christopher Miller, producer Dan Lin, animation co-director/editor Chris McKay, and cinematographer PabloPlaisted to discuss the making of the box office smash and Oscar-contending The Lego Movie.

The  lineup on Nov. 3 will be headlined by the Oscar Contenders panel, which includes director Dean DeBlois (How to Train Your Dragon 2), Paul Young, co-founder of Ireland’s Cartoon Saloon (Song of the Sea) and director’s Graham Annable and Anthony Stacchi (Laika’s The Boxtrolls).
