Wachowski’s Jupiter Ascending Set for Summer 2014

The Wachowski’s next movie, Jupiter Ascending, has just landed a July 25, 2014 release date from Warner Bros., which means another smart, genre-bending experience from Andy and Lana, who are obviously unfazed by the lackluster box office response to Cloud Atlas.

Mila Kunis transitions from Wicked Witch in Oz the Great and Powerful to toilet scrubber in Jupiter Ascending, who threatens the hierarchy of the universe when it’s discovered that she shares the same genetic makeup as the Queen. Channing Tatum, Eddie Redmayne, and Sean Bean co-star, with the very hot Michael Giacchino composing the score.

John Toll (Cloud Atlas) is back as cinematographer, Hugh Bateup gets promoted to production designer after working with the Wachowskis as art director (The Matrix trilogy, Speed Racer), and John Gaeta (The Matrix trilogy, Speed Racer) returns to help raise the immersive VFX bar, no doubt, with his incomparable design aesthetic.
