Trailering The Jungle Book from Jon Favreau

Watch The Jungle Book trailer, Disney’s new live-action/CG hybrid coming April 15, 2016 and revel in a nostalgic re-imagining.

At D23, Jon Favreau admitted his nostalgia for the ’67 animated feature and how the trick was to honor it while going deeper into the Rudyard Kipling story with photorealism and gravitas. Here’s our first glimpse, with terrific performance-captured characters and environments. MPC and Weta Digital lead the way. Rob Legato is the production VFX supervisor, Christopher Glass is the production designer, and Bill Pope is the cinematographer.

Newcomer Neel Sethi plays Mowgli with Sir Ben Kingsley voicing panther/mentor Bagheera; Bill Murray voicing free spirited bear, Baloo; Idris Elba voicing fearsome tiger Shere Khan; and Scarlett Johannsson voicing the seductive python, Kaa.
