Trailering Strange Magic from Lucasfilm

Watch the first trailer for Strange Magic (January 23, 2015 from Disney’s Touchstone Pictures), a musical, mischievous riff on A Midsummer Night’s Dream that looks like a cross between Willow and Moulin Rouge!

A collaboration between Lucasfilm Animation Singapore and Industrial Light & Magic (the Oscar-winning Rango), Strange Magic utilizes popular songs from the past six decades to help tell the tale of a colorful cast of goblins, elves, fairies and imps, and their humorous misadventures sparked by the battle over a powerful potion.

Former Oscar-winning sound designer Gary Rydstrom (Lifted) directs from a script he co-wrote with David Berenbaum and Irene Mecchi from a story by George Lucas. Mark Miller produces and the voice cast includes Alan Cumming, Evan Rachel Wood, Kristin Chenoweth, Maya Rudolph, Sam Palladio, Meredith Anne Bull, Alfred Molina, Elijah Kelley, Bob Einstein, and Peter Stormare. Music producer Marius de Vries (Moulin Rouge!) serves as both the musical director and composer.
