Shane Black takes over directing duties from Jon Favreau and promises a trilogy culmination with obviously more at stake dramatically for Robert Downey Jr.’s superhero. Along with new dangers (with shooting in China), there is the hint of a face-off with arch villain Mandarin (Ben Kingsley). Scanline VFX joins the team, handling most of the second half mayhem, with Digital Domain and Trixtor assisting along with and other houses.
