Trailering and Clipping Cloud Atlas

Judging by this wondrous trailer about “half-shaped lives and loves… meeting again and again and again,” nothing could be more trippingly cosmic this season than Cloud Atlas (Oct. 26), co-directed by Andy and Lana Wachowski and Tom Tykwer.

Based on David Mitchell’s sweeping novel about reincarnation, Cloud Atlas follows a group of individuals (with multiple roles for Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Ben Whishaw, Jim Broadbent, Doona Bae, Hugh Grant, and Susan Sarandon) whose actions and consequences impact one another throughout the past, present, and future. One soul is shaped from a killer into a hero and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution in the distant future. Sounds like something you’d get from the directors of The Matrix trilogy and Run Lola Run. View the directors’ commentary in the clip below the trailer:
