Teasing The Good Dinosaur from Pixar

Catch the first peek of The Good Dinosaur, Pixar’s pre-historic adventure (Nov. 25).The Good Dinosaur has been a difficult story to crack with co-director Peter Sohn taking over the helm from Bob Peterson and Denise Ream producing. As John Lasseter described at Cannes, “This is a boy and a dog story, but the roles are reversed. Arlo, the dinosaur, is the boy in the story and Spot is the dog.”

The Amish farming motif might be gone, but the landscape is still a key component, and the level of believability has been upped by Pixar. You can already tell that cinematographer Sharon Calahan (the first CG practioner to join the ASC) has done stunning work.

Voice talent includes Raymond Ochoa (Arlo), Jeffrey Wright (Arlo’s father, Poppa), Steve Zahn (Thunderclap, the¬†pterodactyl), AJ Buckley (Nash, T-Rex), Anna Paquin (Ramsey, T-Rex), Sam Elliott (Butch, T-Rex), Frances McDormand (Arlo’s mother, Momma), Marcus Scribner (Arlo’s brother, Buck), Jack Bright (Arlo’s friend, Spot).
