Sneaking The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Last week Peter Jackson hosted a live sneak peek of some footage for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (Dec. 13) as a treat for fans that bought the Blu-ray or DVD of An Unexpected Journey. Now you can view the six-minute excerpt.

The middle movie is often the most difficult, but the advantages, according to Jackson, are having multiple story lines, so the second part of The Hobbit trilogy is not so linear. He also shows us a glimpse of concept art of a foreboding Mirkwood Forest, one of the scariest parts of the movie, and introduces Evangeline Lilly as Tauriel, Luke Evans as Bard the Bowman, and Stephen Fry as the Master of Laketown.
