On Saturday, I got a sneak peek of the new Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives, which opens July 6 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum. Presented by D23 and created by the Walt Disney Archives.
Of the more than 500 items (thousands if you count every item), 50% have never been on display before, including a remarkable recreation of Walt’s office as he left it (above image by Inside the Magic). Other rare highlights range from the original Steamboat Willie script, to the Model T from The Absent-Minded Professor, to the Nautilus model from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, to the actual books used in the openings of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (restored by the Huntington), Sleeping Beauty (also restored by the Huntington), and Cinderella.
