In this revealing Bourne Legacy featurette, Tony Gilroy and company explain a larger conspiracy at play in the fourth installment of the franchise, in which Jeremy Renner’s Aaron Cross emerges as a second programed assassin. In fact, Legacy overlaps Ultimatum, raising the stakes politically, dramatically, and morally. Thank goodness the action is less disorienting with Gilroy at the helm but no less confusing from a narrative standpoint.
