Clipping Anomalisa Landing for the Oscar Contender

This “Anomalisa Landing” clip demonstrates the sophisticated storytelling and aesthetics behind the stop-motion Oscar contender from Charlie Kaufman & Duke Johnson.

In the landing scene it all comes together in terms of setting up Michael’s fear and anxiety and the whole naturalistic visual tone achieved by the crafts people (particularly puppet supervisor Caroline Kastelic, cinematographer Joe Passarelli, editor Garret Elkins, and the sound editing/mixing team of Aaron Glascock & Christopher Aud).
