The Mirisch Agency, founded in 1992 by agent Larry Mirisch as a below the line boutique, is dedicated to “the client, the work and people realizing their stated goals.” It therefore tailors representation to each person. Therefore, when a job query comes in, Mirisch and his colleagues examine the list of available clients to see who matches the specified requirements and is interested in “stretching into that” to avoid any pigeonholing.  Mirisch reps editors, cinematographers, production designers, line producers, VFX Supervisors, VFX producers, producers and costume designers. The 43rd Annie Awards Saturday night at UCLA’s Royce Hall was a love fest for Pixar’s Inside Out, which grabbed 10 awards, including Best Animated Feature, and is primed for the Oscar. The Good Dinosaur, which dominated VES animator on Tuesday, took the Animated Effects prize for a Pixar sweep. Read more

Autodesk Offers New Subscription for Flame

Autodesk announced new subscription pricing for Flame starting at $750 per month and can be accessed annually for as low as $500 per month. Autodesk also announced Flame support for OS X as part of the Autodesk Flame Extension 2 release, available later this month. Autodesk Flare and Autodesk Flame Assist software are now available as standalone products with monthly subscription prices, starting at $400. Read more
