Darren Aronofsky just tweeted from the set of Noah about the construction commencing on his Ark (@DarrenAronofsky): “I dreamt about this since I was 13. And now it’s a reality. Genesis 6:14.”
Well, taking into account theĀ “Mad Max-style” vision described by Drew McWeeny, who read a draft of the script by Aronofsky and exec producer Ari Handel, (Skyfall’s John Logan was brought in for a rewrite), this appears to take the ambition of The Fountain to a whole new level of existential spectacle. But then Aronofsky has always been drawn to both the cosmic and organic. I can’t wait to see Russell Crowe as Noah and Anthony Hopkins as Methuselah, his grandfather, and the 11-foot-tallĀ fallen angels known as the Watchers in this meta-biblical epic. Talk about the sins of the father… Co-starring Emma Watson, Jennifer Connelly, Ray Winstone, and Logan Lerman, Noah is slated for release from Paramount March 28, 2014.
