Academy Announces Nov. 1 Deadline for Animated Features

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has set Nov. 1 (5:00 pm PT) as the deadline for filmmakers to submit entry forms and supporting materials to qualify for the Animated Feature category for the 85th Academy Awards.

It appears there will be eligible submissions to qualify five nominees. I handicapped the Oscar race going into the fall season and since then we’ve had the addition of A Liar’s Autobiography — The Untrue Story of Monty Python’s Graham Chapman added to the mix.

Additional information may be obtained by contacting Meredith Shea by phone at (310) 247-3000, ext. 1190, by fax at (310) 247-2600, or by e-mail at mshea@oscars.org.

The 85th Academy Awards nominations will be announced live on Jan. 10, 2013, at 5:30 a.m. PT in the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

Academy Awards will be presented on Feb. 24, 2013, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center, and televised live on ABC.
