A Short Stay in Hell Feature Planned

Wandering/Cut Films, which produced David Spaltro’s award-winning indie features Around (2008) and Things I Don’t Understand (2012), has acquired the rights to the existentialist horror novella, A Short Stay in Hellby Steven L. Peck, which Spaltro will direct.

A Short Stay in Hell, which Spaltro will adapt with Peck, is about a Mormon in a personalized hell of an infinite library looking for the story of his life so he can leave.

“[It's]one of the most original and powerfully moving things I’ve ever read,” Spaltro said. “I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and am excited for the challenge to adapt it to the screen with this wonderful author.”

Wandering/Cut Films is also in pre-production on Spaltro’s third feature, Wake Up in New York, the romantic dramedy with a science-fiction twist, set to shoot this winter in New York City and LA, and is developing the TV series, Welcome to Hockey Town, about a female hockey player from Buffalo set in early ’90s.
